Long week...

I've thought about writing many times this week, but every time I sit down to do it, I end up using the time to take a nap. Training has been really tough, amazing, but tough. It's fantastic to be able to see my fitness improving so quickly. It makes all of the hard training and the before 9pm bedtime worth it.

The weather here has not been too conducive to training this week. It has been raining on and off for basically the whole week. It is fantastic for Los Angeles, as we really need the rain, but it has made for some quite wet, cold and muddy training sessions. In fact, the other day, while riding around Griffith Park, we got hailed on!!

Otherwise, not much is new. Last night, I watched a bit of the Miss America Pageant. It is always entertaining, especially the talent competition, and you have to give them credit for parading around in their bikinis in front of millions of people. I mean, we parade around, all over the world in out bathing suits, but we have it easy, we don't have to look good in them and we certainly don't get judged on our poise and confidence while half naked. I'm still not sure why Miss America needs to look good in a bathing suit because I'm pretty sure when she visits the elderly or goes on Good Morning America she is not going to do so wearing a bikini. I suppose it could happen, but I'm not sure that would really help her achieve world peace... maybe I'm wrong though.

I am back training with Harry again. It was so good to start working with him. I missed our sessions while I was home and away racing. I'm quite sore today after a tough session yesterday. I really believe that we are going to make some big strides over the next 10 weeks that will only add to all of the hard work that Siri has me doing. I've already noticed a difference in working with him and we have only scratched the surface. It is so great to have such an amazing team supporting me.

After 10 or so days of going non-stop, I get tomorrow off. I'm excited for the day. My body definitely needs to recover and rebuild as I have been sore every day for the last 2 weeks. It won't be a day filled with nothing, as I have some business to take care of, as usual, but at least the day away from training will be good for me physically and mentally.

But before then, time to take a nap, because I still have another 5k swim session to knock out!!

Wait, world peace and revealing bikinis aren't directly correlated?

Ugh. It looks like I may have to change how I'm choosing my presidential candidate this year.

Enjoy the rest day.
